About Jimbo Scott

Have you ever been walking down the street, and suddenly heard a voice that made you walk into a venue to see whose it was? That is Jimbo Scott’s voice - a bell, magnetic and the definition of a powerhouse. Jimbo Scott was born in Memphis, Tennessee, and raised in Oakland, California. His songs nod their head at the great tradition of the North Beach troubadours along with the soulful drawl of the great country, bluegrass and rock and roll of his roots.

Jonathan Frahm, of forfolkssake.com, described Jimbo’s latest release, “Heads Up” as “soulfully swinging” with a “sweet and ebullient delivery”. His keen sense of introspection makes his songs both revealing and relatable. When not performing as a solo artist, Jimbo has developed his chops as a member of the award-winning and nationally-recognized Northern California band Poor Man’s Whiskey. In 2019, Jimbo will be releasing a new full length album, recorded to tape at San Francisco’s famed Tiny Telephone Studios, release date September 13th, 2019.
